DOVER SABS HIT REPORT 99/2000 |
After the farcical arrest of 23 Sabs on June 19th (no Officer, we were not at the riots in London). Police reaction has calmed slightly, with the Kent and Sussex Minkhounds being packed up with no real problem . Dover and Ashford Sabs traveled up to the Glorious 12th, to meet with bad weather, pathetic policing, but no Shooters ...Yawn! The season's next arrest occurred at a mink hunt in Essex, with an Ashford sab being arrested for possessing an offensive whip. No matter, theWest Street and Tickham were packed up early the same day and sabs were treated to a Canterbury visit by Haywire! Sadly, all assault charges against members of this violent hunt (West Street and Tickham) have been dropped, leaving sabs with bruised and aggravated trespass charges festering, after a memorable day last season Never mind, bad weather, sabs spraying piss at hunt staff after the C.A. march and the discovery of the huntsman's criminal record, have provided almost as much fun as watching the Tickham trying to hunt! (see you soon Allen!) The East Kent got a bit annoyed when their open day was invaded by sabs, bad weather pissed on their cubbing and recent visits by sabs this season haven't really cheered them up. The Wye College Beagles have also spent three memorable meets with sabs, chin up don't lose your tempers now! Their joint meet and hunt ball were also ruined by Kent sabs - its just not cricket is it? The next week found the Wye College being packed up again, upsetting them so much they punched a female hunt monitor -well they usually kill hares for fun ..Return to to the East Kent saw successful sabbing resulting in no kills, but a savage attack by red coats. One sab was ridden down and down repeatedly and repeatedly whipped (caught on film, by a sab who was attacked whilst filming!)- Sabs were also attacked by a “Get off my land” psycho earlier in the day-The Countryside Alliance get their knickers in a twist again! A small group of sabs bravely returned to the E.K the next week, taking the pack straight away.then getting away before the police arrived! They then traveled many miles to a meet( notoriously used to be violent )Ashford Valley, only to find they had already packed up and the village was full of police-oops- time to go! Boxing Say saw a large demo at Elham, where a group pf protesters pushed over the barriers and attacked a trouble making red coat. In their haste to get away riders began to fall off and lots of fun was had . A small group of sabs stayed with them all day, running each draw and stopping a dig out . The police didn't even leave their vans. A hunt person later tried to ride down sabs, but he got scared by the suggestion of dismounting to talk it over .they then packed up early. To add insult to injury their Wednesday meet was sabbed as well! New Year's day saw the West Kent ride out un-policed, where a drunken thug smashed a van window with his fist and sabs were attacked, leading to countryside hysteria about people being killed ...I assume they mean more of us on the next (!) New Year's day, the Tickham were still too scared to go out. But a shoot was sabbed instead! Happy New Year If you would like to get involved in spoiling the hunts “fun”, or have information that could help to locate cub hunts then contact the Hunt Saboteurs Association: HSA, PO Box 2786, Brighton, BN2 2AX; /Fax (01273)-622827. info@huntsabs.org.uk or visit their website at www.huntsabs.org.uk They will put you in touch with your nearest group. ‘Operation Rook’
" OPERATION DODO " 30 sabs fell foul of ‘Operation Rook’ on sat 19 June .The ‘Kent & Sussex Mink Hounds’ were successfully sabotaged and packed up at approximately 1pm , in a very peaceful action by about 40 sabs . The sabs hung about to make sure the hunt stayed put . The atmosphere was friendly, with both sides chatting while a police helicopter buzzed around the sky? 4pm and the peace was shattered by the appearance of 10 riot vans , supported by various police bikes and cars . Sabs were leapt on by tooled-up riot police , handcuffed and order to kneel on the floor. Sabs were arrested for a variety charges - agg’tresspass , assault , theft , criminal damage , violent disorder etc…….Many were held in baking hot police vans for up to 90 minutes , only then to find themselves photographed and processed at not one but two police stations. NO CHARGES WERE MADE ?? and the sabs were bailed to re-appear in September . The Hunt alleges that a mobile phone was stolen and the tyres let down on a hound van ! Hardly cause for an operation on this scale ? RIOT SQUAD ?? Or did they think that this riots on Friday, sabs on Sunday .Well it must be the same people! Makes sense mate ? Saboteurs were quoted as saying “This the worst overreaction ever seen in Kent and it sets a bad precedent for future actions” SOUTH-EAST HUNT SABOTEURS CANTERBURY AND DOVER-STEVE 0585 140851 EAST KENT/ASHFORD H.S.A PO BOX 33 ASHFORD KENT HUNT SABSASSOCIATION AGM SAT 17TH JULY 99 AT JACKSONS LANE COMMUNITY CENTRE , ARCHWAY ROAD (A1) 1PM-12AM |
