Arrived at the train station (meet point) early and as the numbers swelled more and more old friends appeared .

This was going to be one interesting day !

Things started slowly with a march through town followed by a quick detour down a side street , across some fields , through a fence (oop's) and low and behold we were standing on Newbury's new bypass . Police camera's surveyed us as everything ground to a halt , police barked orders to each other "keep the high ground" what they were going to do with it who knows ? We walked them up and down for a few hours which they didn't seem to mind , but eventually they lost their humor and decided to remove us from the road . MY GOD what a cock up 6 units of " tactical support group" having to retreat to the safety of their vans . While protesters blocked the road bodily and physically in front and behind . They even brought the helicopter back out to check their boys were safe . We eventually got bored after an hour or so and let the poor bewildered policemen go as we fancied another stroll down the road now strewn with rocks , mud and made our way up to Donnington Castle for talks and food .
