On reaching 'Shamrock we found a few protesters were outside the farm but it was obvious that the majority of us were elsewhere. We made our way into Worthing where we soon found the demo proceeding round the outskirts of the town.

The police made great attempts at blocking the demo and finally penned us in down a residential street. About 8 of us managed to escape down a sidepath in front of the housed . The police soon noticed and this was soon blocked off as well. The people enclosed, were then allowed to disperse at intervals five at a time.

The few of us who managed to escape stickered lampposts and gave out information to passers by. We then continued into the town guided by some local children who wanted to give a hand.In the town center the demo continued amongst busy Christmas shoppers. Our numbers grew again as our fellow demonstrators found once more. Natwest was then targeted for a minor demo. The police seemed a little reluctant to let us near the shopping centers and formed lines to prevent us doing so.

However after running back and forth we managed to reach McShite just to annoy them. Three of us danced and sang “Close down Mcdonalds” . Then we assembled to discuss the next move. We decided to visit a local hunt ball.

Unfortunately we were not allowed to reach it as our minibus was stopped and searched for dangerous weapons!?! None were found, of course. Hopefully next time they will provide more believable legalities .Dismayed we then continued to the party was not at the venue originally designated. On the way to the ball earlier on we met a gentleman who had previously worked at Shamrock. He told us of depressing conditions but also that every now and then the monkeys escape and throw objects at the workers. On one occasion there was a baboon there who attacked one of the managers . A small amount of justice in a very sickening business.
