In 1925 the Danish artist Kay Nielsen produced twelve beautiful, full colour, illustrations
for an edition of Grimms' Fairy Tales. It is those illustrations, together
with their accompaning stories, which are reproduced here. The head and
tale pieces, and decorated initials, are by the French artist Pierre Courtois. Click on a title to open a new window and when you've either read or saved the story, close the window. Clicking on 'Home' will return you to the main menu page. The graphics are rather large and may take a while to load, but the wait is well worthwhile.. Notes on the Brothers Grimm and Kay Nielsen can be found in the Biographies section. |
