Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851)
The twenty-four paintings in this screen saver are just a few from the many thousands which form the Turner Bequest, housed in the Tate Gallery and the British Museum London. Twenty five drawings by Dutch artist and draughtsman M C Escher. These eccentric designs explore space in an original and challenging way. Some play tricks with perspective, or show impossible buildings, or appear to flout natural laws; they need to be examined carefully to see what's going on.

The English artist and ornithologist John Gould (1804-1881) is probably the greatest of bird illustrators. His scope was immense, as he travelled all over the world to find material for his work; the accuracy is extraordinary; and the beauty of the illustrations
is considerable.  Each of these screensavers presents twenty of the fruits of his travels in the Americas.
