Major feature films often need very special effects which often require compositing the various effects images to create one clip. Sometimes keying is not enough to create the effect and other software is used. In Premiere you can export a clip as a Filmstrip file (do not sue too much of the clip as the file will be huge! Cut the clip to a managale size), and Photoshop will be able to read this file, and you will be able to edit each frame of the clip.
