Apple's Final Cut Pro

The Basics:

Apple has entered the world of non-linear software by creating its own editing software along with its update of Quicktime 4. Final Cut Pro is ideal for the new Firewire equipped G4 Macs, and is optimised for the new G4's. It combines the editing power of Premiere with the compositing abilities of After Effects (though AE Pro is much better). There are 100's of special effects in the form of filters and transitions. Ones to look for include the motion blur and image stabiliser which create incredible smooth blurs (best with static cameras and motion in front of them) and the ability to stabilise wobbly footage. I tried it on a hand held shot of a helicopter shot on telephoto and the results were impressve (After Effects Pro and Commotion 3 both have similar features).
