Fly! 2

Brief Description:

This is the long awaited sequal to Fly! (aka Fly!2k) The original has been a huge success, despite bugs in its first release, but is now a powerful sim. It is Mac and PC and requires a 3D card for smooth graphics. There is a world wide database of airports and an assortment of 3rd party scenery files you can download, but this will now expand with the exciting new features of Fly!2 The official web site is at http://www.iflytri.com/

Fly! 2 should be out in the spring (maybe later here in the UK)

Number of Aircraft:

The original planes will be updated

  • Cessna 172R Skyhawk
  • Beechcraft King Air 2000
  • Hawker 800XP
  • Piper Malibu Mirage
  • Piper Navajo Chieftian

There will be 2 new additions to the fleet

  • Pilatus PC12 - advanced turboprop
  • Bell 407 helicopter- finally a helicopter to land on the buildings and boats (there's one in New York City)

Scenery Area:

· New scenery imagery. FLY! II expands FLY!'s existing flight scenery using the Terrascene 2 scenery system by Perspective Consulting and new global imagery by How in the World?. This allows users to navigate effectively in a Visual Flight Rules (VFR) environment.

FLY! II will feature new and expanded 3D models, aircraft, elevation scenery and higher resolution images. Like its predecessor, FLY! II will feature a global flight area, worldwide digital elevation terrain model, photo-realistic terrain imagery, and high fidelity cockpit and avionics systems, detailed to each aircraft's original configuration. FLY! II will also include more points of interest, improved visual effects, dynamic environments and thorough tutorials, instructions and assistance for beginners.

· Dynamic vehicles. FLY! II will increase the realism of taxiing with the addition of airport vehicles such as fuel trucks, emergency vehicles, and baggage handlers.

Graphics/Sound:

You will need a graphics card to get the best out of it such as the standard ATI cards built-in to the iMacs and G3/G4 range. You can have multiple viewpoints on screen, including exterior views and basic instrumentation as well as vector charts and real sectional air charts as used by real pilots which depict airports and airspace regualations (though this will only be for US airspace). There are also 3d clouds and varied weather conditions.

Sound is just as detailed with different sounds for interior and exterior views, along with individual engine noises (for twins) and landing gear and so on.

Special Features:

- Pre-configured single user adventures. These pre-configured flight adventures describe a goal and set flight parameters, then score users based on their performance and completion of the primary goal.

· Downloadable community adventures and challenges. Terminal Reality will continually update its Web site to post downloadable challenge flights and adventures submitted by simmers or developed by Terminal Reality.

· Extended multiplayer flight parties. Virtual pilots are lead into a world of flight where the simulation itself will develop an exciting set of emergency situations, weather conditions and flight patterns.

· Failures and damage. FLY! II will feature basic system failures as well as limited structural damage.

· Enhanced visuals and weather effects and aircraft systems.
