Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park and The Lost World are prime
examples of modern film making. They both contain excitement and
horror, some humour but always a sense of adventure. The two films
are different entities. Jurassic Park 'invented' new technology by
using Computer Graphic Imaging (CGI) on such a scale never seen
before. CGI has been used in films for many years but only in
creating inorganic objects such as spaceships or stained glass
knights in the Young Sherlock Holmes (another Spielberg film). But
the greatest challenge for CGI was to create a living creature on a
computer which the audiance would believe in.
The first time I saw the Brontasaurus on the huge cinema screen it took my breath away. Its movements were so fluid and real, I believed in the dinosaur, it was that powerful an image.
The best page for JP fans, and in my view the best web page of the whole internet, is Jurassic Park It contains all the latest info on the films along with pictures, video clips and lots of other information by a very dedicated JP fan.
