Record Label Collaboration.
Atomic Bass© and DJ Martin's record label will be distributing the records to
Techno DJs by the end of this month. DJ Martin's has road tested the tunes in
various record shops and all are agreed that the tunes
will be a big success, and so we are hopeful that things
work out accordingly.
We will be using
three tunes for our first vinyl Called the 'Pink Elephant EP', as on our first business
meeting with DJ Martin, there was a bloke ( we assumed )
riding a bike dressed in a pink elephant costume, and so
after the laughter had died down,DJ Martin thought it
would be a good idea to use that sighting as a title for
our first record. No spliffs involved, honest.
The tunes on the
record are:
1. Power Minds
2. Abstract Artists
3. AbyssEmail from DJ Chronicles Subject:

have just started a new techno tune and for now i have
named it 'Powerminds'. This tune as you would expect
from Atomic Bass© is different and powerful. There are
sounds in this tune that take you to a different place. I
love it to bits. When i've finished it i will put

Atomic Bass© Gig At
The Late Room. A Massive Success
We did it !!!
The gig our first
ever was a massive success for all of us being ourselves Atomic Bass© ,Swine T ,Bubba's
Chapel of Bliss. and my mate DJ Martin.
Myself EQUINOX 2 took to the stage alone to
represent our band Atomic
Bass© and the
crowd were outstounding, and well up for it. We got lots
of support which was the best i could ask for.
Everyone
wants a CD of the music i played, which i will sort out in
the near future.
But right now i
have lost my voice for all the shouting last night and my
limbs are like jelly for all the dancing, which has
knocked out my bodies immune system. So as i type this i
am full of the cold and ache all over. But what the hell
it was all worth it,such was the success on the night
that all sorts of promo spin offs are now possible.
And what about my mate DJ Martin. He blew the roof off with his
powerful techno mix which rounded the night off nicely
for me. We will be working together in
the near future and things are looking good.
As for Tim Keely and Matt Kendall of New Manchester Bands ( NMB ).
I personaly thought they had doubts about us,but after
the sound test with the brilliant engineer Paul Beckers at
the helm they knew it was going to be a good night, and
they were not disappointed.
There is only one
word to describe Paul
Beckers.
GENIUS.
We will be working
on a project with his band 'BroKen' in the near future.
There will be a new
album made from the tunes played on the gig night, even
though some of the tunes have already been released they
have a new remixed edge to them now which the crowd loved.
And i'm sure you will like it too.
As for the name?

Gig At The Late Room
Yes at last a gig to let loose the Atomic Bass©
vibe to the masses.
Atomic Bass©
and other dance bands plus various DJs will be busting
the sounds all night long.
The night is
called 20 20 Sound promoted by New Manchester Bands( NMB
).The music will be from 9pm till 2am, on Friday 13th
June 2003,at the Late Room on Peter Street
in Manchester UK. Tickets cost £4.00.
Yes £4.00 for a city centre venue,a bargain as one
things for sure Atomic Bass©
will be kickin it large. The Volume will be loud and the
bass will be heavy. So if you want a dance night that's
fresh, new and a joy to the senses, then this is the music
event not to be missed. We've are running out of
tickets, and thats the truth as from 4th May 2003. A BIG THANKS to
all the guys who will be supporting Atomic
Bass© out there infront of the crowd.
Yes we were all there at the Orbit
club in Morley Leeds UK with the people that know the style of
music that Atomic
Bass© will be playing on the night,we
are all just buzzing and we want to share that buzz with
all of you out there. I've done most of the music now and
there will be old and new tunes blasting out,and i really
hope the venues speakers are up to the job as i will be
showing no mercy with the volume and the bass. To

Future Music
Planning
We have been
discussing what we need to do for this future gig in the
summer as our equipment has not been updated for quite
some time now and there are a few things that need to be
sorted before we put the equipment through the grilling
of a any type of gig.
Looking at the
music equipment to the right of me in my room as i type
has not enfused me with enthusiasm to sort it all out.
But i know once i've started i will get it all into
shape, and then it's just a matter of memorising what does
what and at what time i want things to start and stop in
some sort of order.
Luckily enough i've
got my work mate John to ask for advice,as he and his
band have done a few gigs so far and could well be the
next big thing. And there name is?
'PORTICO'
OK it's not your
usual type of name in the music circuit, but it's
distinctive enough to be a piece of music history if all
goes well.
Their style of
music is indie ie stone roses and oasis. And the press
have been pretty enthusiastic about them. So when John
has time to give me all the info about them,i will
publish it on the net as this is a field they have not
got to grips with yet,but without doubt i'm sure there
name will be all over the web when things really take off
for them.

New Job
Well i've got a new
job and all is well so far.
Surprisingly there
is new and upcoming band member in our office. I will
wait to see how well he ( John ) gets on before i do a
full report. Nevertheless it looks like Oasis have a new
challenge to face from the same city that gave birth to
them as well.
The management team that looks after John may be working
with us in the future,if we find any time with all this
office work.

Manchester Bands promote gigs at venues across Manchester
(Jabez Clegg, The Palace in Levenshulme and 42nd
Street). We are also starting dance nights and metal
nights. We are looking for bands and DJs to perform at
the gigs.
We have
established links with record labels, radio stations,
recording studios, magazines and other promoters who use
the same and other venues.
Our gigs
have between 2-5 bands playing, depending on the venue
and the bands. We always have a DJ playing until 2am at
each gig and we always make sure that we get decent drink
promotions at each venue i.e. £1.50 a pint or equivalent.
If you
are interested please get in touch and let us know a
little more about yourself. These details would include
your exact location, a brief history about your band (dont
worry if youve only just started out!) and any
other info including any Mp3 links.
Please
view our website for full details. We look forward to
hearing from you in the near future.

Much Better Records
are looking for bands to get involved in a
pseudo-sampler for the record label.
We are opening the floor to any interested parties.
'much better records' and are looking to get bands
involved from around the
country (ie Britain). We do not want to limit it to
purely one geographical
area as we feel this gives the press, who are lazy to
begin with, an obvious
stick to hit us with.
The theory being that if we have, say 6 bands, each can
put on 1 or 2 tracks
on the sampler, with view to releasing it around
September.
What we then plan to do is do the gig share thing whereby
at least two bands
on the sampler get together and play a 'launch' night in
one home town and
then the following week there would be a launch night in
another city. This
allows us to have numerous launch nights,
increasing sales initially and presenting ourselves to
different press
pockets.
Not every band will play every gig (would be nice but
probably not
practical) but it does allows us to have gig shares,
along with a launch
night in each city. The bottom-line being
that our collective profiles get raised in cities and
towns where we do not
know anyone at the outset.
Everyone should be in it to help themselves as much as
the other guys
involved.
So what we want is anyone interested to send us 1 - 3
tunes and let us get a
listen to what
you are up too.
Please send your tunes to,

Web Space Limit
There was a bit of a mistery when i
tried to upload this page to my website as it refused to
appear dispite my ftp software confirming upload. So i
uploaded another page, which was ok. Tried again to upload
this news page but it was having non of it. Fortunately
our old atomicbass.co.uk site was still online under it's
origional address, and so i uploaded this news page to
there and made a link from this site on the index
homepage.
A quick email to the Ukonline support department and i
was told that it was becuase i had used up all my allowed
webspace. Fair enough so i begged for some more as it was
due to modernisation that i ran out of webspace, ie the 'Streaming' technology which
required a meta file for each mp3 file on our site plus
the Dance
Room with the rather large music file.
Fortunately my begging paid off and i have been granted
11meg to try out new technologies.
A BIG THANKS David

The Dance Room|
We have created the dance room and
it works perfectly.,especialy if you have Broadband on

The dance tune i have chosen for this room is 'Abstact

it is a techno tune by origin. Well it worked for us over
here.
Go visit the Dance Room and enjoy.

Happy New Year
We at Atomic Bass© would like to
wish everyone around the world a happy new year and hope
that it's a good one for all.
So what now?.
Well we will be looking for new designs for this website
as it needs a music room where visitors can 'club it' and chill. As mentioned
in the previous news ( December 2002
) this will be done using 'stream' technology, but to add to that
you will benefit more by using 'Broadband'
as this will load the music file quickly and so you can
get down a lot sooner.
Obviously the best thing about the music room will be our
own tunes in full, not music bites as is available so
far,and i'm sure you will enjoy the grooves to the end.
Work has already begun on this project, and we will let
you know when it's ready.
Dance Room Now Ready On
Test
I could not wait any longer, and so i have created the Dance Room and uploaded it for
testing. So far all is working and i will leave it for a
week or so on trial, but first you need to read the
following to get the best out of the Dance room.
1. If you do not have
broadband internet access then expect to wait a minute
for the Windows media player® to start the stream.
Patience now. Trust me it's worth it.
If you have Broadband then the stream will start almost
immediately ( now read number
3 ).
2. Continuing with
standard modem connections.
When the stream starts and the music begins to play, click
on The Black Stop Square
in the Windows Media Player® and wait a minute for the
loading of the tune to get at least to the halfway point
on the Media's Play Bar ( You will
see this as a growing white
line which
represents the amount of music loaded into the media
player ).
The reason for this is because the standard computer
modem will not load the music into the media player fast
enough.
If you were to let the media player start the music
before the white line reached the halfway point, you will
see the 'Music Play Square'
( which moves on the white line
as the music plays ) go faster than the growth of
the white line. And so when the Music
Play Square reaches the end of the white
line the music stops until there is more of the white
line for the music to continue.
The white line needs to be close to the halfway point to
keep well ahead of the moving square.
With the white line near to the halfway point you can now
click on The Black Start
Triangle in the media player and the
music will play continuously to the end as the white line
would be well infront to reach it's full length before
the Music Play Square catches up.
Broadband internet access does not have the above delay
as it should load a lot faster,so you can let it play as
soon as the media player opens and starts the music.
3. Last of all for
standard modems and Broadband internet access, click on
the refresh logo in the webpage status bar to restart the
animations and then minimise the Windows Media Player®
to the Task Bar by clicking on it's symbol which looks
like this one ( -
)
Turn the music up and dance away. Click on the animation
to enter the Dance Room
