Atomic Bass© Music

ARTISTS HISTORY

Many years ago (too many to remember) no,i remember now, it was officially 1990 as our first proffesional equipment from Johnny Roadhouse ( who's still in business on Oxford road Manchester UK ) was a Yamaha MR10 ( receipt 22-09-90 ) whatever the hell it use to look like i can't remember,it's long gone now.

Myself(Alex) and my mate(Peter) were creating general but run of the mill tunes on equipment that was reasonably crap for that era,but we thought it was great, like you do when your young, and we were called 'Atomic Bass' as it sounded cool.

As time went by we purchased more advanced musical equipment, thanks to The Prince's Trust award which was an initiative from HRH Prince Charles, for which we are truely grateful as it would have taken us a lot longer to get here if the financial support was not available way back then.

Because there is only the two of us in the band there are no complications on which one is the lead member and all the crap that can be the undoing of many a good working friendship. As it goes myself and Peter have never had an argument on what goes on in our band because we understand that creating the tune and finding new material is all that matters.

Peter has a vast imagination in the creation field which has produced a unique type of music. He strives never to copy from any one else and so far has managed to stick to that philosophy. Also when it comes to cracking how a new musical equipment works he's well advanced as long as it does not frustrate him too much. Peter is always hunting for new musical technology and no musical instrument to date has managed to fulfil his demands for new better sounds, and as for creating new tunes, give him a week and he has sorted at least ten new tunes from any new viable musical instument.

As for myself I have become more involved with the engineering side of the musical creation, but like Peter I too am always looking for new technology in the music world, albeit a bit too exspensive to keep up with. I'm glad to say that the advances in musical technology have made music creation more satisfying for the professional and amature musicians alike. Its strange to try and explain how when I'm engineering a tune how it can completely transfix me in a way that I will not move from the equipment until satisfied that the tune is perfect to me,and you know if your a musician that can sometimes be very hard, and i admit there were times when it was all too much hassle and i've said,"stuff it,leave it as it is,noise an all".

We generally create our music at home but we have graced a studio once, and even though the end result was good we realised then that we could do just as good if not better ourselves at home.

We were being told how good our music is an therefore should get out there and promote it,but both me and Peter had other commitments which delayed us from getting things together, yet we still made time to get the odd tune recorded and we even managed to rope in some singers along the way. Eventualy we had some CDs created, and within a week out of thirty copies we were left with two. Not bad for what was our first album, and even now people want copies.

In the last year or so we have purchased some more equipment suitable to enable us to create music with more efficiency and,the computers have given us the chance to convert our ideas into a viable medium for the masses.

We would like to thank all the people who helped us to get this far,Microsoft,Korg uk,Roland,Yamaha,Steinburg,Creative labs,Family, freinds and technicians. No matter what happens from here on ,we will still be creating music for all to enjoy.

Important extra point:
Our Band Name has always been since 1990
'Atomic Bass' and we later added the '©' to make a point of ownership. But we have to mention this as situations have and probably will arise where this name can be dublicated by mistake ( or purposely ) by other artists.

Atomic Bass© Music ( the name ) was created for internet search recognition, and as a business name. But on testing the internet search engines in the year 2000 with both names ( Atomic Bass and Atomic Bass© Music ) there was no such band in the world and nothing else with both keywords could be found, and yes we have a record of all search engine searhes and submissions by us. And our name was the only name to be found using the keywords Atomic Bass.

Now you know when you join an internet service provider ( ISP ) you can choose your email name and website address name. Well we first joined Strayduck.com and registered under the name atomicbass. No problem,as mentioned above no one else was using that name. But due to many a computer crash at the time we had a new computer built and registered with Madasafish.com with the name atomic_bass.

Band registration is a good idea if the company searches beyound it's own database. We recommend a simple self addressed registered post envelope with all your details and music. But better still a trade mark.
