Information Before 1837

Infomation before 1837 could, in the past, be had from Parish registers. However, since 1976 Parish records have been deposited in local authority repositories. There are few parishes in Wales that have not placed their records in their Local Authority Records Office, or the National Library of Wales at Aberystwyth.

The map below is of the old Welsh counties. Click on the county you are interested in and the address of the County Record office where information is kept will appear at the top of the page.
