The map names about fifteen places in Cumberland and some other features including mines, forests and The Picts Wall. Seven places outside the county are also named.

Only one road is shown: Penrith via Carlisle to Long Town.

The rivers Esk, Kerbeck, Combeck, Leven, Eden, Blenkenbeck, Wiza, Elne, Caude, Peteril, Coker, Eymot, Dudden and Eske (a different river to the Esk) are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About eighty place names have been added.

Roads added are:
1. Egermont via Cockermouth, Ireby, Carlisle, Corby Cast. and Brampton to the boundary with Northumberland at The Picts Wall.
2. Cockermouth via Keswick to Ambleside in Westmorland.

PART OF LANCASHIRE has been engraved at the bottom centre of the map and the dotted line Westmorland/Lancashire boundary has been extended.
