There is no scale bar.

The map names eleven places in Derbyshire and another five outside the county boundary.

Roads shown are:
1. Mansfield in Nottinghamshire to Dronfield via Chesterfield.
2. A road that crosses the county, entering from Leicestershire to the southeast of Derby and leaving at the boundary with Cheshire, where To Manchester is engraved.

The rivers Mersey, Rother, Brewash, Dove, Tame and Wye are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

A scale bar has been engraved at the bottom left hand side of the map: English Miles. (10 = 25mm)

About fifty-five place names have been added.

Two roads are added:
1. Thern via Wirksworth and Hanley to Chesterfield.
2. Plesley via Clown to the boundary with Yorkshire.

The dotted line Yorkshire/Nottinghamshire and Cheshire/Staffordshire boundaries have been extended and the Cheshire/Yorkshire boundary line has been strengthened.
