The map names twenty-three places in Lancashire and twelve outside the county boundary.

Roads shown are:
1. From Ambleside in Westmorland via Kendal and Barton, across the Lancashire border, to Lancaster, Garstang, Preston, Wiggin, Newton and Warrington and into Cheshire.
2. Halifax in Yorkshire via Rochdale and Manchester, across the county boundary at Stockport and through part of Cheshire into Derbyshire.

The Thuston, Lune, Wire, Ribble, Hodder, Trivel, Taum, and Mersey rivers are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About thirty-five place names have been added to the map.

Two roads have been added:
1. Warrington to Leverpool.
2. Lancaster via Hornby Cast. to the boundary with Yorkshire.

The Westmorland/Yorkshire boundary has been extended to the right-hand edge of the map. Dotted lines have been added to mark the Derbyshire/Yorkshire, Derbyshire/Cheshire and Cheshire/Yorkshire borders.

Six more place names, Middleton, Newton, Gorton, Traford, Kilcheth and Winwick have been added.
