The map names eight places in Monmouthshire and two outside the county boundary.

Roads shown are:
1. Monmouth to Abergavenny and on to the boundary with Brecknockshire.
2. Monmouth to Cardiff in Glamorganshire via Newchurch, Newport and Rampney.

The Mynwy, Trochy, Olwy, Birthin, Avon, Elwich Vach, Elwich Vawr, Ebwith, Rhymni or Rampney, Wye and Severn rivers are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About fifty place names have been added to the map, including five features in the Severn estuary. Coldcliff Pt. in the Severn estuary has been changed to Goldcliff Pt. This change is shown below (first state on the left).

One road has been added:
Trelagh to Chepstow and on across the Aust Ferry to Gloucestershire.

A dotted line has been added to mark the Herefordshire/Glocestershire boundary and the Glamorganshire/Brecknockshire and Brecknockshire/Herefordshire boundaries have been extended with dotted lines.
