Scale: English Miles. (20 = 29mm)

The map names about thirty places in North Wales and three in England. The map includes Caernarvonshire, Anglesey, Merionethshire, Montgomeryshire, Denbighshire and Flintshire.

Roads shown are:
1. Welchpool via Mouthwye and Harlech to Caernarvon.
2. Chester via Denbigh, Aberconway, Beaumaris and Boddedar to Holy Head.

Although there are several rivers on the map only the Dee and Severn are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About ten place names and several coastal features have been added.

Three roads have been added:
1. Holywell to Bala via Ruthyn.
2. Holywell via Mold, Wrexham, Llanfyllin to Newtown.
3. Mouthwye to Aberistwith in South Wales via Mahynleth.

P. OF LANCASHIRE added in the bottom right-hand corner of the map.

Dotted lines added to mark the Lancashire/Cheshire, Cheshire/Shropshire and Shropshire/South Wales boundaries.

Third state

Imprint changed to:
Publish'd by the Proprietor W H Toms Sept. 29. 1742.

About fifteen more place names and several more coastal features added.

Two more roads have been added:
1. Bala to Mouthwye.
2. Wrexham to the river Dee.

RADNOR S and P. OF CARDIGAN SH added on the left-hand side of the map and Pt. of Flint added to the east of the Dee river at the bottom centre.
