The map names about forty places in South Wales and two in England. The map includes Penbrockshire, Carmarthenshire, Cardiganshire, Glamorganshire, Brecknockshire and Radnorshire.

Roads shown are:
1. Newport in Monmouthshire via Cardiff, Cowbridge, Bridgend, Aberavon, Swansey, Llanelly, Kidwelly, Llangharne and Havorfordwest to St Davids.
2. Presteign via Rhaiodergwy to Aberistwith.

The Tave, Towy, Twy, Rodiol, Irvon and Usk rivers are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About sixty-five place names including about twenty-five coastal features have been added.

Roads added:
1. Radnor to St Davids via Bealt, Llanandovry, Carmarthen, Newport and Fishgard.
2. Rhaiodergwy via Tregaron and Llanbedar to Cardigan.
3. Aberistwith to Newport via Cardigan.
4. Cardiff via Brecknock and Bealt to the boundary of Radnorshire with Montgomeryshire.
5. Brecknock to Llanandovry.

P. OF HEREFORD SHIRE added at the bottom of the map around the scale bar and P. OF MONTGOMERY SHIRE and MERIONETH added on the right hand side. P. OF SOMER SET S. added at the bottom left corner. Dotted lines have been added to mark the Merioneth/Montgomeryshire and Montgomeryshire/Shropshire boundaries.
