The map names thirty-six places in Somersetshire.

Roads shown are:
1. From Bristol to Huntspil via Axbridge.
2. From Bath to Dulverton via Wells, Glastonbury and Bridgewater.
3. From the Wiltshire boundary to join the Bath-Dulverton road just south of Glastonbury.
4. From the Dorsetshire boundary via Milbourn Port, Yeovill and Crookhorn and back into Dorsetshire.

The Frome, Brius, Parott, Toma, Evill and Avon rivers are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About ninety-five place names, including some features in the Bristol Channel, have been added to the map.

Roads added:
1. Bath to Bristol via Kansham.
2. Wells to Bedminster Pill via Chew Stoke.
3. Bedminster Pill to Uphill via Wrinton.
4. Huntspil to Frome via Wells.
5. Kingsweston to Wellington via Somerton, Langport and Taunton.
6. From the Wiltshire boundary via Phillips Norton, Shipton-Mallet, Ilchester and S. Petherton to join the road between Crookhorn and the Dorsetshire boundary.
7. Bridgewater to Minehead via Watchet and Dunster.
8. Minehead to the boundary with Devonshire via Exton and Upton.

The river previously called the Brius has been re-named the Brent. Parret R. has been engraved beside the river already called the Parott, but the original name has not been erased.
