The map names nineteen places in Staffordshire and nine outside the county boundary.

Roads shown are:
1. From an unnamed town in Warwickshire via Coleshill, across the Staffordshire border to Lichfield, Rugely, Stone and Newcastle and over the Cheshire border. To Warington is engraved beside the road in Cheshire.
2. From the same unnamed town in Warwickshire via Birmingham, across the Staffordshire border to Wolverhamton, Penkridge, Stafford and Stone.
3. There is a third road from the same town that runs roughly westwards for about eight miles but does not enter Staffordshire.
4. From Birmingham in Warwickshire across southern Staffordshire to the Shropshire border and on to Bridgnorth and Wenlock.
5. A branch from the road between Stone and Newcastle to the Cheshire border and on to Nantwich.

The Dan, Manifold, Charnet, Teyne, Blythe, Trent, Smestol, Tame and Severn rivers are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About sixty-five place names have been added to the map. Lichfield has been changed to Litchfield and Wolverhamton is now Wolverhampton. The changes are shown below (first state on the left).

No roads have been added but the unnamed town in Warwickshire which is the starting point for three roads is now called Meridon.

The Stour, Tow and Tam rivers have been named.

Dotted lines have been added to mark the Shropshire/Cheshire, Cheshire/Derbyshire and Derbyshire/Warwickshire boundaries. PART OF WORCESTER SHIRE has been engraved to the south of Staffordshire and dotted line Shropshire/Worcestershire and Worcestershire/Warwickshire boundaries have been added.
