The map names twenty-three places in Sussex and seven outside the county boundary.

Roads shown are:
1.Chichester to Midhurst and across the county boundary to Godalming in Surrey.
2. Chichester to Arundell and then northwards and across the county boundary to Darking in Surrey.
3. Lewes to E. Grinsted.
4. Hastings to Battel and then across the county boundary to Tunbridge in Kent. This road is joined between Battel and Tunbridge by a road from Rye.

The Rother, Medway, Ouse and Arun rivers are named.

Second state

The imprint is unchanged.

About fifty-five place names have been added to the map.

Roads added:
1. Cuckfield to Crawly.
2. Steyning via Ashurst, W. Grinstead and Horsham across the county boundary into Surrey.
3. From Pulborough via Sutton and Harting and across the county boundary to Petersfield

The Bramber river has been named.

Several alterations have been made to the left-hand information panel:

The fair dates for East Grinstead have been changed to July 2. Nov.30. (previously Apr. 16. July 15.).

Brighthelmston Market Saturday. has been changed to Brighthelmston Market Thursday.

Saturday has been added after Haylsham.

The entries for East Born, Ditchling, Pevensey and Terring have been erased.
