The christians fought back well but they were no match for the lions. At half-time the lions were already 4-0 up but refused to sit back on their lead and move in for the kill.
The capacity crowd (mainly Romans) fully appreciated this display of mindless violence. One small detraction in this match was the foolish display by some christian supporters, who seemed intent on ruining the game for everybody by praying. This foolish minority was summararly executed by the strong local Gladiator force.
