what makes FateStorm an evolution in roleplaying?

Independant to story or genre players take on the
roles of Avatars, the embodiment of universal Archetypes, that resonate
with character, pathos and depth.

The Avatars are prone to moments of great glory and
tragedy - this is emulated through the FateStorm Herocycle.

The players get to choose how fast and when their
Avatars advance in ability and strength through the unique Quest system.

Combat and conflict are resolved through an intense
and fluid duelling mechanic that recreates the flow, and drama of
conflict.

Non random determination VRS gives a more realistic
influence upon the game without loosing the sense of tension and chance
that dice based systems rely upon.

Avatar development is freeform but allows for vocations
and career progress if desired, enriching the game with the Avatar's
own goals and motivations.
