Any Other Business
- The Chairman and all members present wished President R Hills a very
happy birthday for today.
- S Cuzner queried why the fishing club reports were not being printed
in the East Kent Gazette. Although match reports have been given to
the paper they have just not been printed sometimes due to a lack of
space.
- N Sharrocks reported that some form of sponsorship might be available
from Chelwood Bricks who now own the old APCM works where our club originated
from. Secretary and President to get together to put together a brief
history of the club showing the past connections to the company
- J Mann said there was a possibility of arranging a boat/shore trip
to the Isle of White at the end of October costing about £100
each if there was enough support for it.
- Social Secretary S Cuzner said that fund raising for club funds was
down on last year an was disappointed at the level of support for fund
raising events. He pointed out that the funds raised go towards the
annual trophies and encouraged members to support the monthly raffle
by supplying prizes and buying tickets.
N Sharrocks and S Cuzner to arrange for a wine and wisdom evening to
be held at the Ivy Leaf Club later that year. J Mann suggested and the
Kent Casting Club committee agreed to offer £50 prize money for
the event from their funds.
- Members requested the return of the swear box to meetings to raise
much money for club funds! Treasurer R Butler was requested to bring
it to the next meeting.
- Members also requested that the Treasurer should present an approximate
interim statement of accounts so that members knew the financial position
of the club.
There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting.
