AGM
13th December 2000
The AGM of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the
Ivy Leaf Memorial Club, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 13th December 2000.

Minutes of the Previous AGM
These were read and confirmed
Matters Arising
- Training was offered at casting days but was poorly supported and
dropped
- Mid week League started at beginning of year but was not well supported
and dropped
- Clubman of the Year to be held as usual....secretary to circulate
voting forms with next newsletter
- Presentation date to be set later. Trophies to be ordered as soon
as possible. N Sharrocks to coordinate.
- Club to enter the "Take a Friend Fishing" event in August.
N Sharrocks to coordinate with organizer Vince Lister.
- Matches against Hope fishing club have been a success and would continue
next year.
- Members agreed to renew membership to the NFSA and renew NFSA Insurance
- Clubs computer was beyond economic repair and had been scrapped
- Boat trips could be arranged next year on an ad hoc basis
Presidents Report
Ray Hills gave a brief report and thanked all the members for their continuing
support
Chairman's Report
Due to the absence of the Chairman no report was given. At the November
monthly meeting Derek Tree said that due to a change in personal circumstances
he would be standing down as Chairman but hoped to get to as many matches
and meetings that he could. He was thanked for all his hard work for the
club as Chairman. Secretary to get roundels for trophies from Derek
Secretary's Report
John Padmore thanked everyone for their efforts throughout the year and
encouraged the recruitment of a few new members. He outlined some of the
more notable events in the past year and in particular noted the sad loss
of Pieman Pat Carroll in March
Treasurer's Report
Reg Butler had been unable to finalize the accounts due to the short
notice of the AGM but would present the accounts at the January meeting.
Secretary still to hand over the receipt for last years trophies.

Any other business
- Kent Casting Club Report was given by Jason Mann outlining past events
and hopes for the future
- Kent Casting Club subscriptions were set at £3.50 non members
£2.50 for members of the club
- Blue Circle subscriptions were set at £12 adults £4 juniors
and concessions
- Secretary outlined minor changes to the clubs rules which were accepted
- Members agreed to hold the AGM in January in future years
- Choosing of venues...it was decided that venues for matches would
be held on the 3rd weekend of every month and that venues would be decided
at the meeting before the match. This would be for a trial period of
6 months after which it would be reviewed.
- The next match would be at Hythe on Saturday 20th January fishing
from 17.00 - 23.00 - pickup 15.30
- To help overcome problems with the Pairs and Knockout competitions
it was decided that only people who had paid or at the very least informed
the secretary that they would want to enter these competitions by the
January meeting on Wednesday 24th would be entered. The draw for these
competitions will take place at that meeting.
- Presentation evening was provisionally booked for 3rd March. Reg Butler
offered £100 towards the cost of the food from his company Vision
Security Systems for which he was thanked.
There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting
