Monthly Meeting Minutes 23rd May 2001

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Ivy Leaf Memorial Club, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 23rd May 2001.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

These were distributed and accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising

  1. Secretary and President still to meet to put together a history of the club
  2. Treasurer still to obtain a new mandate form for the Club account as the original has been lost by the bank.
  3. N Sharrocks still to order another set of monthly trophies with 2000 engraved on them.
  4. Boat Trip....boat was booked for 10th June but there were not enough members interested to fill the boat. Spaces were to be offered to non club members. If spaces could not be filled the club would pay for places.
  5. Secretary gave report on NFSA AGM reporting that all the propositions were passed. J Mann offered to get details of insurance scheme from Sportscast UK.
  6. R Jolly did not require casting club rod but thanked them for offer. Rod to be returned.
  7. Family membership was agreed to be brought in on 1.1.02 at £20
  8. Species match was agreed to be held at September match.
  9. Members agreed with the thought in the 'Mystery letter' that the new Chairman Nigel Sharrocks had done much for the club since taking up office and a vote of thanks was proposed for his efforts.

June Match

The match was decided to be fished at Hythe on Saturday 16th June fishing from 18.00 - 00.00. The pick up point will be at the water pump opposite the Dover Castle pub on the A2 at Teynham at 16.30.

Any Other Business

1. Members were encouraged to be more positive in coming to meetings with ideas for choosing next months fishing venue. If you don't hear of any reports on the fishing make enquiries at fishing shops to find out where they think is fishing well at the moment or may fish well for the next match.

2. It was hoped that a group of anglers from the club could enter the Kent Classic in November. It was agreed that any money not expended on filling the boat spaces could be used to subsidize this.

3. The club Bar-b-que was booked for Sunday 26th August.

There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting
