A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Ivy Leaf Memorial Club, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 20th June 2001.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

These were distributed and accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising

Secretary and President still to meet to put together a history of the club
Treasurer still to obtain a new mandate form for the Club account as the original has been lost by the bank.
N Sharrocks brought in new set of monthly trophies with 2000 engraved on them.
Boat Trip was enjoyed by all on 10th June. £35.00 was left to go towards the Kent Classic Competition.Discussion took place about giving points for attending functions to represent the club such as matches against Hope etc to encourage attendance by more members.
J Mann still to report on details of insurance scheme from Sportscast UK.
R Jolly did not require casting club rod but thanked them for offer. Rod to be returned.
Species match - secretary to look at species caught last year to assess a points system for September match.
Order to be placed for sweatshirts.

June Match

The match was decided to be fished at Lloyds Building, River Medway on Sunday 22nd July fishing from 11.00 - 16.00 against Hope Fishing Club. The pick up point will be at the Little Chef, Rainham on the A2 at 10.00. Voting on continuing fishing on every third weekend of the month was deferred until more members were at meeting.

Any Other Business

1. Members are to be reminded that subscriptions are well over due. If fees are not paid for by August membership will be recinded. Casting Club still to pay for members who have qualified to have their membership fees paid by them.[Note: it is up to individual members to ensure their fees are paid either by themselves or ensuring they are paid by others for them]

2. Scales have been missing from the beach on the last two matches. It is up to the Match stewards to ensure that they are on the beach either by bringing them or giving to another member to take to the matches.

3. The club Bar-b-que was booked for Sunday 26th August. Hope fishing club members to be invited along. Numbers attending the Bar b que are required by the next meeting on Wednesday 25th July. Money required by August meeting.

4. Secretary to bring back sealed length competition.

5. Members present were disappointed at the number of people attending matches and meetings recently and encouraged members to support their club actively and suggest ideas for improvements.
