Minutes of meeting on 17.10.01 for Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Ivy Leaf Memorial Club, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 17th October 2001.

Albert Greatorex, Alan Crayford, Dan Crayford, Stephen Grainger, Christine Clifton, Rodney Clifton, Christopher Porter, Mark Hammond & Kay Hammond were voted in and welcomed as new members to the club.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

These were distributed and accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising

Secretary and President still to meet to put together a history of the club
Treasurer still to obtain a new mandate form for the Club account as the original has been lost by the bank.
R Butler is the only member not to exchange monthly trophy yet.
J Mann reported that Sea Angler may not be offering insurance to clubs and this issue is still to be resolved.
Sweatshirt order to be placed after Christmas.
Secretary still to write to NFSA about request for members names and addresses.
Pairs entering the Kent Classic Open on November 18th on behalf of the club were decided.
N Sissons still to get e-mail address from D Curtis of Hope fishing club for secretary to send newsletters.
Club may have to move room or date of December meeting as the Ivy Leaf Club was booked for another event on 12th December.

November Match

The match was decided to be fished at Hythe near the Imperial Hotel on Saturday 10th November fishing from 17.00 - 23.00 The pick up point will be at the Water Pump Teynham on the A2 at 15.30.

Knockout Competition

John Allen beat Jason Mann in the final to become the 2001 Knockout Champion.

NFSA SE Divisional Minutes dated 4.9.01

These were shown and discussed.

Kent Casting Club

J Mann reported that the Kent Casting Club had ceased to operate. The casting field usually hired by the Kent Casting Club had been hired by himself on the same day that the Kent Casting Club usually had i.e.the first Sunday of every month for the use of Sittingbourne Sportscast. He reported that members could attend Sittingbourne Sportscast at a cost of £3 for tuition and practise. J Mann suggested that an inventory of assets that the Kent Casting Club has be drawn up. J Padmore has KCC's Zziplex Primo in his possession. S Chesson has the KCC bank book and other bits and pieces that need to be accounted for. Secretary to try to put together a list.

Any Other Business

1. Details of fishing competition at Gravesend on 4th November were discussed.

2. John Allen had placed advert for new members in the local paper with great success

3. Secretary to get copies of membership application forms for the club to J Mann, Ashford Tackle & Unity Tackle to help promote membership.

4. A club quiz night will be held on Saturday 24.11.01 at the Ivy Leaf Club. £1 per person to enter. £50 first prize. Start at 8pm. M Hammond offered to be quiz master to sort out an eight round quiz with an ongoing round to answer throughout the quiz. Members were requested to bring in a raffle prize. Secretary to produce some posters for Ivy Leaf club to put up.

There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting.
