Meeting Minutes 12th December 2001
A
meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the
Ivy Leaf Memorial Club, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 12th December 2001.

Minutes
of the Previous Meeting
It was pointed out that the venue for last months match was on 10th November
2001 at Hythe fishing from 17.00 - 23.00 and not as shown. Apart from
this the minutes were accepted as a true record.
Matters
Arising
- Secretary
and President still to meet to put together a history of the club.
- Treasurer
still to obtain a new mandate form for the Club account as the original
has been lost by the bank.

R Butler and Ray Hills have still to exchange monthly trophy. Secretary
to bring in monthly tray for April 2000.

Insurance for club to be decided at AGM. Jason Mann reported that approximate
cost of UKSF insurance would be £30 affiliation fee + £20
per year insurance which is what roughly the cost that the club pays
now. Jason Mann to get firm details.
- Pairs
who entered the Kent Classic Open on November 18th were congratulated
for turning out for the club although they didn't have any success in
the competition.
- N
Sissons still to get e-mail address from D Curtis of Hope fishing club
for secretary to send newsletters. Jason Mann to take Blue Circle application
forms to next Hope Fishing Club meeting.
- A
decision on Kent Casting Club and its assets would be made at the AGM.
- Secretary
handed out copies of membership application forms for the club to Jason
Mann and Bob Greatorex for distribution to Ashford Tackle & Unity
Tackle to help promote membership.
- The
club quiz night was a good success. The club thanked Mark and Kay Hammond
for setting and running the quiz and Reg Butler for obtaining sponsorship
from Vision Securities. The club hoped to put a team in the Ivy Leaf
Club quiz on 15.12.01
- Secretary
had returned the updated information about the club to the Kent Information
Federation.
- The
AGM for the club was decided to be held on Friday 4th January at 8 pm
at the Ivy Leaf Club. Copies of the clubs rules were distributed to
enable members to discuss / alter them at the AGM. Secretary to send
copy of rules to other members not attending this evening.
- The
clubs new camera was used at the last match to record events but the
pictures appeared dark but it was hoped for better success with daylight
pictures.

Match
The match was decided to be fished at Gravesend on Sunday 13th January
fishing from 10.00 - 15.00. The pick up point will be at the lay-by
on the A249 between the Key Street Roundabout and the M2/A249 roundabout
on the Maidstone bound side of the carriageway at 08.45.
- Newsletter
and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
- The
Mudlark Issue 3 and The Medway and Swale Estuary Guide were received.
These
were shown and discussed.

Any
Other Business
1. Mark Hammond suggested that additional points for Angler of the Year
could be given to anyone breaking a club record fish. This could be
added to rule changes to be decided at the AGM.
2.
Secretary to circulate voting forms for the Clubman of the Year Award
with the next newsletter for members to vote for who they think has
done the most for the club and its members throughout 2001. Members
were reminded that the usual work of the clubs officers should be excluded
from the reckoning for the Angler of the Year vote.
3.
Secretary to look at the fish record cards to see if there was a winner
for the Largest Fish Returned Competition.
There
being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting.
