Monthly Meeting Minutes 16th January 2002

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Ivy Leaf Memorial Club, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 16th January 2002.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising

1. Secretary and President still to meet to put together a history of the club. M Hammond showed old newspaper photos involving club members from the past. J Mann to see if he can obtain any names to the photos from a contact. R Hills, as a founding club member, to be given opportunity to examine photos to put names to the faces.
2. Treasurer still to sign a new mandate form for the Club account.
3. R Butler and Ray Hills have still to exchange monthly trophy. Secretary to bring in monthly tray for April 2000.
4. Insurance for club - Jason Mann reported that he was still awaiting details from UKSF. Secretary presented insurance quote obtained by R Butler. It was decided to await details from UKSF. Members to sign a waiver form at each club match until insurance is in place.
5. N Sissons has obtained e-mail address from D Curtis of Hope fishing club and will pass to secretary shortly.
6. Kent Casting Club remaining assets still to be completely accounted for. N Sharrocks to contact S Chesson to progress.
7. Membership posters and forms were handed to B Greatorex for distribution to local tackle shops.
8. Secretary to circulate remaining voting forms for Angler of the Year with next newsletter. Forms to be returned by next club meeting. Permanent trophies to be returned by next club meeting on 20th February.
9. The AGM was held on 4th January see separate minutes

February match

The match was decided to be fished at The Prince of Wales Pier on Sunday 17th February fishing from 11.00 - 17.00. The pick up point will be at the Water Pump at Teynham at 09.30. The winner will be decided upon the agreed points per fish system outlined by N Sharrocks.

March Match

The Match was decided to be fished at Deal Pier on Sunday 17th March fishing from 10.00 - 16.00. The pick up point will be at the Water Pump at Teynham at 08.30.

C Johnson Singles Knockout Competition

The draw for the first round of the Singles Knockout Competition resulted in the following heats:-

These heats to be fished at the February and/or March matches. Entry fee to be £1 per person

'Pieman' Pat Carroll Pairs competition

The draw for Pairs was as follows:-

Entry fee to be £1 per person. The competition will be fished from February till the end of the year. The pair with the greatest combined total of points attained during the year in the clubs points system will be declared the winners.

Correspondence

1. Newsletter dated 01.01.02 and minutes of last meeting dated 12.12.01 were sent to all members.
2. NFSA Quarterly Journal Nr 24 and enclosures.

These were shown and discussed.

Any Other Business

1.Presentation evening - It was decided to hold this event at The Billet on Saturday 23.03.02. Arrive at 7.30 for 8.00 pm sit down. A Committee meeting would be held on Saturday 26.01.02 at The Billet at 1.00 pm to discuss arrangements. Secretary to confirm time by phone to all committee members

2.Secretary brought in Primo rod for inspection. Although it was decided at the AGM to auction the rod at the January meeting members decided that it was only fair that this be delayed until the February meeting to enable the auction of the rod to be advertised to all members in the newsletter.

There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting.
