Monthly Meeting Minutes 25th September 2002

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Billet Pub, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 25th September 2002.

Members Attending

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
It was raised that the minutes should have read that the meeting was closed by the acting Chairman. Apart from this the minutes were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. Completed insurance application form and list of club members names and addresses were handed to Treasurer to send off with the appropriate cheque.
2. Hastings trip was enjoyed by all those attending. A report was circulated with the last minutes outlining the trip. It was felt that for the next trip more consideration should be given to arranging entertainment for partners when members were fishing. It was suggested that the large casting club tent could be used for communal activities such as meals, chat etc. Another trip was being considered for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Details of freshwater Holiday Park near Chesil Beach Dorset were considered.
3. Secretary to compile order for sweatshirts and return sample garments to Wellbeck Sports via mark Hammond.
4. Badges - secretary still awaiting details from Pinpoint Badges. Mark Hammond had obtained a quote for badges and would investigate the possibility of obtaining sponsorship for them.
5. Treasure hunt was postponed to a later date
6. J Mann and N Sissons reported on dates for boat trips with Hope Fishing Club. Members were asked to contact Jason Mann on 07904239722 for further details and to book a place. The first trip is on Sunday 13th October.

September Match
21st September Dengemarsh Fishing from 18.00 - 0.00 LT 19.00

October Match
Will be fished at Hythe on 19th October near the Shell Garage fishing from 18.00 - 00.00. Pick up 16.30 at the Water Pump in Teynham.

November Match
Was decided to be fished at Walmer on Sunday 17th November fishing from 10.00 - 16.00 pickup at 08.30 at the Water Pump in Teynham.

C Johnson Singles Knockout Competition
Final between Reg Butler and John Padmore still to be fished.

Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2. Statement from Wellbeck Sports.
3. NFSA reminder letter that subs had not been renewed.
These were shown and discussed. Secretary to write again to NFSA to say that club would not be renewing membership.

Any Other Business
1. Members agreed that the club would subsidise members entry into the Kent Classic by £5.

There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting.
