Monthly Meeting Minutes 19th March 2003

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Billet Pub, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 19th March 2003.

Members Attending
N Sharrocks, R Butler, M Hammond, K Hammond, K Moran, J Mann, N Sissons, D Sissons, S Sissons, A Greatorex, D Sandy, A Price, J Padmore and C Skillen.

Apologies
J Allen, D Allen, R Hills. C Clifton phoned secretary before start of meeting to inform him that the Cliftons would not be renewing membership to club this year.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
It was pointed out that D Sandy attended January match and caught no fish which should have been shown on the results. Apart from this the minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. M Hammond reported on camping site in Clacton. He was asked to investigate other sites along the Kent/Sussex coast.
2. Members were reminded that subscriptions were now due and would be over due at end of March.
3. As Cliftons had not renewed membership A Price and K Hammond would be reinstated to Singles Knockout competition.
4. Presentation evening was enjoyed by those attending. Members attending would get a point for Angler of the Year. S Seager still to pay money for meal. J Mann pointed out that the dogfish he caught last year was returned alive to sea.

April Match
Due to Deal Pier possibly undergoing renovations members decided to fish on the sea front at Deal near Deal 1919 Clubhouse on Sunday April 20th fishing from 11.00 - 17.00 pick up at 09.30 at Aldis car park.

May Match
This will be fished at either Hampton Beach Herne Bay or Samphire Hoe. All members were asked to let the next meeting know of their choice.
Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2. Letter from Clarkeroxborough Insurance confirming insurance cover for revised membership list.
3. Letter from Mayor thanking club for inviting her to Presentation dinner
4. East Kent Gazette article on presentation dinner was shown

These were read and discussed.

Any Other Business
1. N Sharrocks had provisionally booked a boat out of Queenborough on 8th June for £20 per head. Members wanting to go on the trip are to inform Nigel by the April meeting and if there are not enough members to fill the boat places could be offered to others.

2. Members discussed promotion of club to get new members. M Hammond to produce a recruitment poster.
There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting
