Monthly Meeting Minutes 21st May 2003

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Billet Pub, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 21st May 2003.

Members Attending
R Hills, J Padmore, N Sharrocks, K Hammond, A Price, J Mann, D Sandy, A Greatorex.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
R Hills should have been shown as attending the last meeting. Apart from this the minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. N Sharrocks reported on a camp site in Ashford. M Hammond was to investigate further other sites along the Kent/Sussex coast.
2. Subscriptions had been received from N, D & S Sissons since the last meeting. Subscriptions are over due from D Curtis, P Gynne, C Munday, J Johnson, S Seager, C Saunders and W & L Scanlon. S Seager owes £30 for presentation meal. Secretary to send stamped addressed envelopes and statements to these people to enable them to pay by post. If this is not received by the next meeting their membership and all its benefits will be terminated.
3. N Sharrocks had booked a boat out of Queenborough on 8th June for £20 per head. Members can pay an extra £10 to get 5 score of lugworm for the trip - phone Nigel Sharrocks immediately on reading this to book this bait.
4. K Moran was elected as a new committee member due to recent resignations.
5. The Social committee proposed Sunday August 24th for the Clubs Treasure Hunt and Bar B Que. Breakfasts would be available at the Billet from 10 am, the Treasure Hunt open to the public would start from 11 am, the course would take approximately 1 hour to complete. The Treasure Hunt would end at 2 pm when the Bar B Que would start. Social Committee to meet at the Billet on Saturday 31st May at 4pm to discuss menu/prices for the event to enable a poster/tickets to be produced as soon as possible.

May Match
Members decided to fish at Walmer on Saturday 21st June fishing from 15.00 - 21.00 pick up at 13.30 at Aldi's car park.

Future Matches
Members decided to discontinue the deciding of venue options 2 months in advance. From now on venues would be decided at the meeting before the event.

Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2. Letter from Welbeck Sports about garments.
These were read and discussed.

Any Other Business
1. K Moran offered to run a boot fair stall to help club funds. If you have any thing suitable for a boot fair that you can donate contact Kerry.
2. Sea Angler Magazine Casting Instructor and National Casting Squad member Jason Mann will help the Club to hold casting instruction/event on Sunday 3rd August where Sea Angler Magazine Casting Club Badges can be won.
