Monthly Meeting Minutes 24th September 2003

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Billet Pub, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 24th September 2003.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting should have shown A Mann attending but apart from this were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. Secretary has obtained £30 from S Seager for presentation meal.

2. Boat trip was discussed but no formal arrangements had been set yet.

3. Treasure Hunt was enjoyed by those few members who attended. The exact sum raised was not known by those at the meeting. It was aired that these events run for members and to raise funds for the club need to be better supported by club members.

4. Match against Woodcombe to be discussed by D Sandy.

September Match
Fished at Deal Pier on Saturday 20th September Fishing from 16.00 – 22.00.

Notable fish caught:
Pouting 22.5 cm N Sharrocks, Blenny 19.0 cm 283g N Sharrocks,
 Wrasse 23.0 cm 283g N Sharrocks, Scad 33.5 cm K Moran,
Codling 31 cm N Sissons, Goby 16.5 cm M Padmore

It was decided that the tie for third place would result in each member getting 1 point.

September Match
Members decided to fish at either Barton’s Point or Ramsgate Pier depending upon tide times. [Post meeting note match will be fished at Barton’s Point on Saturday 18th October fishing from 16.00 - 21.00 pick up at 15.15 at Irwins Loop lay-by just on the Isle of Sheppey].

 Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2. Insurance renewal notice - members agreed to renew insurance. Secretary to pass letter to Treasurer to pay.

Any Other Business

1. Members discussed entry to the Sheerness Open on 9th November and decided not to offer a membership discount to those entering this year.

There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting.
