Monthly Meeting Minutes 19th November 2003

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at the Billet Pub, Sittingbourne on Wednesday 19th November 2003.

Members Attending
J Padmore, N Sharrocks, M Hammond, K Hammond, J Mann, A Greatorex, A Price, R Hills and D Sandy. Mr Terry Nicholson was introduced and welcomed to the club.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting should of shown that D Sandy and A Mann attended the October match. Apart from this the minutes were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. Boat trip is being arranged by N Sharrocks who will phone skipper for details.

2. Members entered the Sheerness Steel Open competition but did not land any sizeable fish

3. K Hammond reported on menus from Coniston Hotel. Presentation Meal was decided to be held at the Coniston Hotel which offered a choice of 13 set menus for £12.50 per head. Children's meals were available. M Hammond to invite Ashford tackle to the presentation evening.

December Match
This will be fished on the Prince of Wales Pier, Dover from 10.00 - 16.00 on Sunday 14th December. Pick up will be at 08.30 at the Aldi's car park. Secretary to contact the Harbour Board about getting an ambulance car onto the pier.

C Johnson Singles Knockout Competition
J Mann beat K Moran to face T Price in the Final.

Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2. Insurance Policy received from Clarke Roxburgh.
3. Letter from Welbeck sports re embroidered clothes.

These were shown and discussed. Secretary to note in minutes that an order for sweatshirts would be compiled shortly.

Any Other Business
1. Members were reminded about need to bring back cleaned permanent trophies at the next meeting.

2. Members were reminded that raffle prizes would be gratefully received for the Presentation evening so please do not throw away those unwanted Christmas Socks!!

3. N Sharrocks displayed ties with printed logos from a supplier. Members agreed to purchase a club tie and agreed to spending up to£150 for 36 ties or a maximum cost of £5 per tie. N Sharrocks to liaise with R Butler about a supplier he uses for corporate supplies. Navy Blue was chosen as the basic colour of the tie.

4. Members were reminded that there was a trophy for the largest fish returned alive and that all species trophies were still up for grabs at the last match of the year.

5. Members were reminded that boot fair items are still being collected for a boot fair to be held next year.

6. Members decided to hold the AGM on Wednesday 7th January at the Billet.

7. The next meeting would be held on Wednesday 17th December at the Billet at 8 pm.

There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting.
