Monthly Meeting Minutes 17th December 2003

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at J Mann's house on Wednesday 17th December 2003.

Members Attending
J Padmore, N Sharrocks, M Hammond, K Hammond, J Mann, A Price, K Moran and D Sandy.

Apologies
None

Introduction
Due to the Billet being booked with Christmas meal bookings it was decided to cancel the normal monthly meeting and to hold a Committee members meeting instead. J Mann and K Moran kindly offered to hold the event. Secretary had phoned around to inform members of change. No points for Angler of the Year would be awarded for attending the meeting.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. Boat trip being arranged by N Sharrocks - no further action had been taken.

2. K Hammond reported that the Coniston Hotel had not been booked for the presentation evening as they could only offer 1 choice of menu for the price they had given. Members decided to book the Beauty of Bath for the meal. The cost will be £10 per adult and £5 for children. The menu choices are attached with these minutes. Due to availability of places tickets are initially on sale to club members who should pay money by January meeting to Kay Hammond after which the tickets will go on open sale. Kay hammond asked to book at pub.

3. Sweatshirt orders still being taken.

4. Members were reminded about need for raffle prizes for presentation.

5. Club ties - costs were still awaited from Reg Butler.

6. AGM would be held at the Billet on Wednesday 7th January at 8 pm. Members were asked to bring in their cleaned permanent trophies to that meeting at the latest.

7. Members agreed that unless fish had been weighed they would not qualify for the largest fish trophies.

December Match

14.12.03 Prince of Wales Pier Dover fishing from 10.00 - 16.00

January Match
This will be fished at Hythe on Saturday 17th January fishing from 15.00 - 21.00. Pick up will be at 13.30 at the Long Hop pub.

Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2.Email sent to Neil Mackellow web site re discarding of dead fish by other clubs at the match on the Prince of Wales Pier. Secretary to write to Dover Harbour Board Environmental Department disassociating this club with such action perpetrated by other clubs on the pier at the same time as our club.
3. Letter received from Canterbury City Council about coastal defence strategy works to be carried out between Faversham and Whitstable.

These were shown and discussed.

Any Other Business
1. Members were reminded about need to bring back cleaned permanent trophies at the AGM to be held at the Billet on Wednesday 7th January.

2. Members were reminded that raffle prizes would be gratefully received for the Presentation evening.

3. Secretary to circulate voting forms for Angler of the Year with the minutes.

4. Secretary reported that he had received an enquiry about the buying of club membership as a Christmas present. Members present had no objections to this subject to the person being proposed as is usual club practise.

There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting.
