Monthly Meeting Minutes 19th January 2005

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at The Beauty of Bath on Wednesday 19th January 2005.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. Presentation meal - children's meals will be same as adult meals, meal selection form to be circulated as soon as possible by secretary, form to include note about club needing support from members and to remind members that raffle prizes would be most welcome, club members were reminded club ties are available free of charge. Members asked Jason Mann to invite Steve or Ray of Ashford Tackle to present trophies.

2. Voting forms for clubman of year have to be returned to Nigel Sharrocks by the February meeting on 23rd February.

3. Members were reminded to return cleaned permanent trophies to Nigel Sharrocks as soon as possible who will ensure all trophies have been returned for the presentation.

January Match
Laser Quay, Rochester fished on Saturday 15th January fished from 14.00 - 19.00.

C Johnson Singles Knockout Competition
Draw for the Knockout Competition will take place at the February meeting. Those wanting to enter must inform Chairman Nigel Sharrocks or Secretary John Padmore if they are unable to attend the February meeting or their name will not be included in the draw.

Pieman Pat Pairs Competition
Draw for the Knockout Competition will take place at the February meeting. Those wanting to enter must inform Chairman Nigel Sharrocks or Secretary John Padmore if they are unable to attend the February meeting or their name will not be included in the draw.

February Match
This was chosen to be fished at Littlestone or Gravesend on Saturday 19th February. Due to the lack of a tide table the secretary was asked to choose the most suitable venue for an evening trip depending upon tide times on that day.

Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes of last meeting were sent to all members.
2. Details received from Welbeck Sports about sweatshirts etc.
3. An email had been received by secretary from Drive2fish fishing club requesting a match against the club later in the year. Secretary to contact them and arrange a match later in the year.

Any Other Business
1. Members decided that it would be acceptable to pay out the Rolling Competition Prize as a cheque when it is won so that entry fees could be paid into the clubs bank account.
2. Jason Mann had received an invoice in the sum £50 for the yearly rental to use the casting field at Blacketts. After discussion it was decided that the club should pay the fee this year to see if the club could recoup the rental fee by holding its own casting days occasionally during the year. It was suggested the club could use the fielding as a camp site for a weekend fish. Rental of the field could also allow us access by agreement to fish along the sea wall in the Swale.
3. John Padmore suggested that it might be an idea that the next venue for a match could be chosen by a member who comes fourth in the previous months match. Members agreed to try this for March, June and September.

There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting.
