Monthly Meeting Minutes 23rd July 2005

A meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Sea Angling Club was held at The Beauty of Bath on Wednesday 20th July 2005.

Members Attending
R Hills, S Heathfield, J Padmore, A Crayford, S Osborn.
Matt Steel was introduced and welcomed as anew member to the club.

Daren Sandy
Members reflected on the sad and untimely death of fondly remembered Daren Sandy who died on 1st July. Club members attended his funeral and a Blue Circle wreath was sent on behalf of the club. The club will encourage his son Daryl to continue sea angling with the club.

Election of Chairman
Two members had indicated their willingness to stand as Chairman - Jason Mann and Simon Heathfield. Members decided that due to lack of members attending meeting the secretary should circulate a voting paper to all members to enable all members to have a vote. The votes should be returned to the secretary by (or at) the next meeting were votes would be counted and a new Chairman elected.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record.

Matters Arising
1. The casting practise due to be run on August 7th has been cancelled to due circumstances beyond the clubs control. Another event would be organised at a later date.
2. The venues found by K Moran for the presentation would be discussed at the next meeting.
3. The match against the Drive2fish fishing club on Sunday 18th September at Deal Pier fishing has been booked. Secretary to sort out arrangements.
4. Boot fair stall to be run on 14th August. Alan Crayford offered the use of his van on the day if required.
5. The clay pigeon shoot planned for Sunday 10th July was cancelled. Another date would be arranged later.

Walmer - Saturday 16th July - fishing from 17.00 - 23.00

These heats are to fished to a conclusion.

August Match
To be fished at Blacketts, nr Sittingbourne - Sunday 21st August 12.30 - 16.30. Pickup 11.30 - Centre 2000 near Ashford Tackle, Sittingbourne

Correspondence
1. Newsletter and minutes sent to all members.
2. Letter from Welbeck Sports re sweatshirts. Secretary to put together order for club sweatshirts etc. which cost about £20 depending upon numbers ordered.

Any Other Business
1. Members agreed that Daren Sandy's son Daryl will take over his membership.
2. Simon Osborn informed the meeting that Dave Cook would like to join the club. Secretary would send membership forms with the minutes of this meeting and next newsletter to him but he would have to come to a club meeting to join the club.
