AGM Minutes 17th January 1978

The Annual General Meeting of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Angling Club was held at the works club on Tuesday 17th January 1978.

Mr R Hills being elected Chairman.

Members Present being Messrs. R Hills, H Andrews, K Hodges, D Bowman, R Smitherman, D Gates, J Sage, M Brenchley, E Bailey, J Pitts, L Ward, D Hawkins, L Jarrett, R Read, R Ward, K Tullett and P Cunningham.

The Minutes of the previous AGM were read and confirmed.

The Secretary reported that arising from the minutes the Club was now affiliated to the NFSA and that a Junior plaque for the Junior catching the most fish in a year had been arranged for.

The Secretary reported that the club had had a successful year, the monthly matches and boat trips being well supported and much enjoyed by the members. The socials too had been successful and Mr Blythes generosity in allowing us to have these functions at his house was very much appreciated.

The Secretary spoke about the financial situation and the Financial Report was studied by members and adopted.

The election of officers produced results as follows:-

Mr Geoff Ralph was readmitted to the club.

Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. L Hammond, P Davison, L Wakelen, J & A Richards, A Russell, R Cox and K Hills.

The Club Rules were discussed and the secretary was instructed to get new rule cards printed in accordance with alterations as below

Rule 1 to include the word Sittingbourne
Rule 3 Delete 6 and insert 7
Rule 5 To include Immediate before decision
Rule 6 To Delete reference to Club Notice Board
Rule 7 After £2.50 insert for Adults and £1.75 for Juniors under 16 years
Rule 11 After provided insert from NFSA
Rule 12 after tie insert prize will be shared

There being no other business the Chairman thanked members and officers for their help and support and closed the meeting
