AGM Minutes 18th January 1983

The AGM of Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Angling Club was held at the works club on Tuesday 18th January 1983.

Members present were as follows: - D Bowman, D Hawkins, J Carr, G Wilson, J Harris, D Harris, R Bunting, R Hills and P Davison.

Apologies were received from J Pitts.

Mr R Hills was elected Chairman.

The Minutes of the previous AGM were read and confirmed.

Mr P Davison, as retiring secretary, reported that the club ha had a reasonable year, 108 fish had been weighed in, and attendance at matches was good. Although the club membership was very few, the finances of the club were reasonable but means of increasing the bank balance should be investigated. He then thanked members present for their support.

The Financial Report was submitted and studied by members present and unanimously agreed.

Proposed R Bunting Seconded J Harris that venues should include six day matches and six evening matches. A discussion took place on the above which resulted in an amendment proposed G Wilson Seconded J Harris that venues be picked according to the tides - all agreed.

The secretary brought to notice the small membership of the club and asked what could be done to remedy it. Members present reported that they knew a few people who would like to join.

Finance, the members present discussed means of raising money for the club and agreed to purchase Blackjack 21 cards, which will raise a fair profit.

Proposed G Wilson Seconded P Davison that a levy of 50p per match from all members that fish the match and a medallion be presented to the match winner - all agreed.

The secretary was asked if it was possible to have the AGM before the first match of the year, he replied that it would depend on how early the first match was to be held.

It was decided by all members that venues for the year be selected at the next meeting.

There being no other business the chairman closed the AGM.
