AGM Minutes 6th December 1983

The AGM of the Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Angling Club was held at the works club on Tuesday 6th December 1983.

Members present were as follows: - G Wilson, D Hawkins, D Bowman, J Pitts, J Carr, R Hills, P Davison, R Bunting, B Waller and D Harris.

Election of Chairman proposed J Pitts seconded R Bunting that R Hills to be Chairman for the year - all agreed.

The Minutes of the previous AGM were read and confirmed.

Matters arising: - there were no matters arising.

Mr J Pitts asked why the AGM was being held in December and not as customary in January, the secretary advised Mr J Pitts that at the last meeting in November the members present had asked for the AGM to be before the first match of the year and decided to hold it on December 6th.

Mr P Davison as retiring secretary reported that the club had a reasonable year 89 fish had been weighed in, but the membership was low and new members are urgently required. The finances of the club are in a fair state but as of last year the club needs to boost income a little more. He then thanked all members for their support during the past year.

The finance report was read by the secretary and passed around to be studied by members present. Members present agreed that it was a true copy.

Proposed J Pitts seconded by R Bunting that the club monies be removed from the CO-OP Bank and placed in a building society due to Kent Reliance

A discussion took place on the membership subs, monthly subs etc. The members present agreed that the subs should remain the same for next year also the monthly medallion should continue.
There being no other business the Chairman closed the 1983 AGM.
