AGM Minutes 17th December 1985

The Annual General Meeting of the Blue Circle (Sittingbourne) Angling Club was held at the conservative club on Tuesday 17th December.

Members attending were as follows: - J Carr, B Francis, J Harris, D Harris, B Waller, K Meader, C Meader, C Meader, J Padmore, D Tree Jnr, D Tree Snr, R Hills and P Davison.

The minutes of the previous AGM were read and confirmed.

There were no matters arising.

The members present voted unanimously that R Hills should chair the meeting.

The retiring Secretary P Davison reported that the club had had a good year catches were down but matches had been well attended. As usual the club could do with a few more members.

The finance report was passed to all members. Proposed C Meader seconded D Tree that the finance report was a true copy.

J Padmore offered to supply new books for the clubs use.

The Secretary brought to notice the weighing in of Rockling. After a discussion it was decided to weigh them and if possible return them to the sea, all sizeable Rockling to count in competitions.

A long discussion took place on booking venues. It was decided to book venues as usual but all members to meet at the pumps or at the designated meeting point.

The secretary brought to notice that Dabs are listed at 8" but at that size they are not worth keeping. After some debate it was decided that Dabs of 8" be weighed and returned to the sea, but to keep dabs of 9" or more.

The club fees to remain the same i.e. Seniors £3.00 Juniors under 16 £1.75, monthly sub 50p.

There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting.
