The
Circular - your monthly newsletter
Well
what about that then two newsletters in one month
unbelievable
but
I expect most of you will forget the next match because this is so early!!
I'm hoping you get this before the Kent Classic as this is your reminder
to meet up at the lay-by on the island at 8.45 this Sunday
.if
you don't remember to turn up then you can look forward to me buying you
a beer with my winnings!!
You also have the opportunity to go out on a boat again on Saturday 7th
December from Gillingham Pier. There are only six places available so
phone media star Jason book your plaice (or should that be whiting?).
Think about wot u want to du for the presentation
.a committee will
be set up to put together the event so they need to know what you think
about a buffet or sit down meal to help them decide which way to go. At
the last meeting there were thoughts that the Billet might not be able
to cope with more numbers than there were last year for a sit down and
the dividing wall in the restaurant bit got in the way so the Coniston
hotel maybe a better bet, some think a sit down may be too dear for a
family although its only once a year, the Billet have offered to lay on
a buffet for £5 per person and might even shut the pub for us if
there are enough people and we should bear in mind that the Billet do
allow us to use their room for our meetings
so you can see
there are lots of variables the club needs your thoughts on, so come to
the next meeting if you can.
I have enclosed a slip for showing your preference on on the bottom of
the form for voting for Clubman of the Year so tear it off and get it
into the next meeting.
The form for voting for Clubman of the Year is enclosed for you to vote.
This is an award for the person who you think has done most for the club/club
members throughout the year. When considering your choice you should try
to exclude the normal work carried out by officers/committee members of
the club that take on these duties as a matter of course i.e. the secretary
does the minutes, the chairman runs the meetings, the treasurer adds up
the accounts etc it should be more about who helps you out with advice
on the beach, who gives you a lift, who arranges extra events, sorts your
bait out, promotes the club, brings in new members, the person you think
has done most for the club throughout the year etc. You don't have to
vote, you may not even know who to vote for, it's a secret ballot so no
need to put your name on the form but if you are voting return your forms
to Nigel Sharrocks the Chairman who'll sort out the voting.
I'll
see you on the beach
