Here we go then the start of a new year and plenty to look forward to. Attached are the minutes from the recently held AGM where there was loadsa heated discussion but thankfully no fights!!!

Read through the minutes now and you will see there have been some changes to the way things are run and it looks as if the January meeting on 29th January at the Billet Pub Sittingbourne will be a busy night. It's a shame I can't be there as I have got to go to the NFSA South East Division's AGM at Deal but I'm sure you'll cope.

If like me you want to enter the singles Knockout and Pairs Competition but cant make the meeting let someone know at the match or someone who is going to the meeting and you will be entered….you've got to be in it to win it! Don't forget subscriptions are now due and treasurer Kay Hammond will be chasing you soon, please bring back permanent trophies you won last year to the meeting so they can be engraved or updated for this year, let Nigel Sharrocks know how many of you will be coming to the presentation dinner this year and what is your choice for February trip.

The next trip will be to Medway City Estate on Sunday 26th January fishing from 15.00 - 20.00 pick up at 14.00 outside the Long Hop pub in Sittingbourne. If you are travelling direct to the venue from elsewhere please don't set up your gear before everyone is there because the exact location for the match will be decided there and you don't want to be accused of having an unfair advantage over anyone else do you?

Expect to catch rockling, pouting, whiting and maybe a sole or codling if you have been good and kept all your new years resolutions. Use size 2 - 4 hooks with lugworm or ragworm. Maddies can be very effective here if you can get them. Take grip weights because the tide can roar through here.

Nigel Sharrocks has reported back that the 33' boat out of Queenborough charges £200 a day and fishes 10 anglers comfortably….the best time will be early April.

Dave Allen has the following fishing gear for sale Daiwa AWB129PM £150 Daiwa Slosh (20 size) £45 Abu 6500 Mag elite £65 Abu 5500 Mag elite £65 Abu 6500 + QTC magnets + QTC aluminium frame £90 Abu 6500 + QTC magnets £70 Abu Mag II £45
Abu Mag III £45 Sheakspear seatbox + Breakaway backrest/carry straps + Breakaway accessory rails/reel holders £40 Blue Titan smock £10 Titan rod bag £5 Beach Buddy £80 ….give him a call for a bargain.

I'll see you on the beach
