Blue Circle (Sittingbourne)
Sea Angling Club

Issue 04.0718.07.04

The Circular - your monthly newsletter

Here it is what you have been waiting for - your newsletter with news and views from your fishing club.

The next venture down to the waters edge is coming up soon so get that bait ordered now. We shall be raiding the deep dark waters at Hythe.

This months top tip will save you money….Don't waste money on expensive binoculars - simply stand closer to the object you wish to see.

Expect to catch a load of fish at this top venue but don't forget to target the higher points value fish to win the match - there will be loadsa low value whiting and pouting but try to target those sole and dabs that should be plentiful as well but score more points per fish. The flat fish like to feed on the bottom so make sure that's where your baits are - try to use wire booms to hold snoods down, keep your rod tip low, use short length snoods to stop them flapping in the tide and if you keep your cast fairly short try attaching another 5 oz lead weight on your line after you have cast out to nail that line to the sea bed at both ends - you might not be able to get your line back if it is buried under the shingle by the waves but if it is too windy don't use that tip any way!

Luvly lug will do the business but ragworm will also take mucho fish here - so as ever take a selection if you can. Watch out for those high scoring bass and codling as well and those obliging rockling and weaver that can be caught close in to the shore. There will be something for everyone at Hythe - out far and in close but make sure those rusty old paraffin and petrol lamps are working, make sure you have enough poke in those batteries and beware those rechargeable lamps don't like the cold or staying on for long periods

If you need some spare trace making materials phone David Allen for some bargain bits and pieces and if you need some value for money bait give Jason a call as soon as you can. Don't forget while you are fishing at Hythe it will be the birthday of Kenny Rogers who just happens to be the favourite singer of someone in the club….extra points if you guess who it is………..all together now……..you picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel………

See you on the beach
