22.04.01 Herne Bay Harbour Arm Fishing
from 10.00 - 16.00
Notable
fish caught: The calm sea and bright sunshine made for comfortable fishing conditions but made the fish scarce. There was a light breeze blowing from off the shore but hardly any waves to stir up the sea. The club were grouped together at the far end of the harbour arm. The best fishing spots were the forth peg down, where Tony Price caught mainly flounders on ragworm fished 40 m out, and peg 7 where Jason Mann caught fish at long range. Ray Jolly thought he had caught the fish of a lifetime when at about 3 pm his tripod was pulled over and then his rod and reel were pulled over....but unfortunately for Ray they were pulled over the railings and out to sea attached to speed boat leaving the harbour!! |
