Ramsgate Pier
Notable
fish caught: Key to Species Caught Bitterly cold easterly
winds kept the fish away and kept us cold. The waves were breaking onto
the pier as the tide was rising. Most of the rockling were caught on
the inside of the harbour. The top two anglers were fishing on the slight
bends at the front of the pier. Anglers found the fishing very slow
as the tide was rising from low water and the 'better' fishing was had
over high tide from 3pm onwards when it was also getting darker. Best
catch of the day £1 for Saithe fillet and chips at the fish and
chippy oppsite the start of the pier!! Lug and rag were best baits fished
on long 18-24" snoods fished below the weighton a Wessex type rig.
If you cant park on the pier bring a trolley for the long walk
