Past and future programmes
The Youth Theatre was formed in 1988, originally as a spin-off from the first
of the successful annual 'summer project' initiatives run jointly by the
Theatre and Hillingdon Borough Council. Early shows included 'Dracula
Spectacula' (1989), 'Cabaret'(1990), 'Annie' (1991) and 'Wind in the Willows'
(1992). 'Wind in the Willows' was a finalist in the 'Barclays Awards' and
extracts of the show were performed in the South Bank centre.
The Beck Youth Theatre became an independent charity in 1992, and has since flourished under the able chairmanship of Wendy Brackley, who is no stranger to dance and the performing arts, being Principal of 'Hillingdon Theatre Dance Centre' and 'Georgian School of Dancing', both in Hillingdon, Middlesex.
