Guys And Dolls
Rehearsals
Guy Contemplating…
Richard Healy (Playing the Part of Sky Masterson), is sitting
reading his script, pondering on how to pronounce his Brooklyn accent without
sounding English!

Line
Runs
This is the
hardest part of the whole rehearsal cycle, where we learn our accents and how
to say a particular line. We believe in help each other. Constructive criticism
is a major part of building a character.

Learning
Songs
Learning songs is the most enjoyable aspect for us because this is
the heart and soul of the show, and especially this one, because it has some
amazing numbers.

Guys At Work
Stewart and Douglas singing with our new musical director Ben. They
are going though the excellent song “Guys and Dolls” Cant you just feel the
excitement!
Friendships
We believe that all of our Members make life long friendships when
they join us, and the time that this is most true is when we perform shows.
Bonds are made for life, for example he we see Chris Stone and Anna West, who
are playing Adelaide and Nathan Detroit.
Rehearsals
Here we have Douglas, Lucy, and Anna, rehearsing hard starting to
feel the tension and nerves and the show date approaches. We see here that
Douglas is trying hard to get into character.
Costumes
Finding the right pair of shoes
for someone is not as easy as it seems… as we can see Andrew Faber demonstrate
how hard it is to put on size 8 shoes when your actually size 13!!!!
Costumes (Part2)
Colour coordination is another aspect that must be taking into
consideration, you wouldn’t want to clash with the set now, would you Anna?
Sun Shine Rehearsal
The Sun is shining, which means we can all Rehearse outside, a rare
treat. We spend every Sunday going over line after line, step after step, note
after note, but it always seems so much better when you’re basking in the sun
shine.
One, and Two and Three, and…
Douglas and Stuart going perfecting the moves in the song ‘Guy’s
and Dolls’. It’s amazing to see the improvement of some our members over the
past 4 weeks of rehearsals. Some of us might not be ‘movers’, but with the help
from our directors we can create visually stunning musical numbers.

Crap Shooters
As I said above, with the talent that we have in our group and due
to the sheer numbers, we can put on an amazing show, and what ever is going on
you can never take in everything that happens, because there is so much to
watch, be it extravagant characters or well choreographed dance steps.
Good Times
He we can see Chris, Douglas and Stuart, Acting out a scene from the
show, under the director, Peter, we start to piece together, where to move,
what to say and how, when to stop, when to start. This is a important time of
the show, building the foundations needed to put on a great performance.

Good Times
But the one thing that we are most proud of at the Beck, is that we
enjoy what we do, we have a laugh, and perform to a very high standard. We all
look forward to coming on Sundays and wish that the Beck was on every day. So
come see our show, I will personally guarantee you that you will enjoy the
show.
