E24. JANE BAGGS born GALE

Jane Gale was born in Hampshire in about 1788-9.1

She married [E4] John Baggs on the 25th July 1805, at Bentley, Hants. Their first child, John, was baptised in Bentley in 1806; all subsequent children - [E3] Henry (1808), Charles (1810), Catherine (1813), Emily (1815), James (1818), Sarah (1820), Eli (1822), Ann (1825), Edmund (1827), and Elizabeth (1831) - were baptised in Hannington.2

In 1841 she was working as an agricultural labourer in Kingsclere, where she still lived in 1851.3

Jane Baggs died on the 8th May 1858, in Hannington, after five weeks cystitis and seven days typhoid fever. She was buried in Hannington churchyard on the 12th May.4
